Back to School Mini Sessions in Logan, Utah - Your FAQs Answered!
Back to School is a favorite time of year for many kids, and a not-so-favorite time for many others. Regardless of how your child feels about heading back to class, this time of year is a milestone. New grade, new teacher, new opportunities mean that this milestone is worthy of a few images to remember your kiddo at this stage of life. Back to School mini sessions are a great way to do this without the cost and time commitment of a full session! Below you'll find a list of clients' most frequently asked questions about these sessions along with some detailed answers.
Q: What exactly will the Back to School Mini Sessions be like?
A: This year, I’m offering two different Back to School Mini Sessions. The first weekend of minis will include a fun, vintage outdoor setup with old books, a globe, and several other fun props at Logan’s Merlin Olsen Park. The second weekend will be held in my basement home studio in Logan, Utah. Both the outdoor and studio mini sessions are short, themed photo sessions designed to capture your child’s personality and excitement for the new school year. They’re fast, affordable, and perfect for holiday cards, social media, and keepsakes.
Q: When and where will the sessions take place?
A: The first weekend of Back to School Mini Sessions will be Friday, September 5, 2025 and Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. each evening. These sessions will be the vintage outdoor setup at Merlin Olsen Park in Logan, Utah. The second set of Back to School Mini Sessions will be held at my home studio (basement), in Logan, Utah on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Q: What’s the cost, and what’s included?
A: The outdoor mini sessions with the vintage set up are $55, with the option to include additional kiddos from the same household for just $15 each. For example, if you wanted to bring 3 kids, the price would be $55 + $15 + $15 = $85 total. Each child will receive a full mini session gallery with 5-7 high resolution photos for download. If you plan to bring more than 3 kiddos, please reach out via phone call, text, email, or Facebook and let me know so I can reserve extra time for you. (No additional charge for extra time added.)
The studio mini sessions are $25 with the option to include additional kiddos from the same household for just $10 each. For example, if you bring 3 kids, the price would be $25 + $10 + $10 = $45 total. Each child will receive the full mini session gallery with 3 high resolution downloadable photos. If you’re planning on bringing more than 3 kids, please contact me so I can reserve some extra time for you. (No extra charge for additional time if you’re booking more than 3 kids.)
Q: How do I book a session?
To book one of the Back to School Mini Sessions, visit https://alexisspence.pixieset.com/booking/. Here, you can choose the session type you’d like, and then select the date and time that works for your family. A nonrefundable deposit of $15 will be needed to finalize your booking.
Q: What should my child wear?
A: Honestly, your kiddo can wear what they are happiest and feel most confident in. I might suggest that solid colors and simple patterns photograph well, and sibling outfits look great if their colors are complimentary.
Q: Can siblings/family members be included?
A: Yes, absolutely! Back to School mini sessions are great for siblings. Let me know in advance so I can plan poses efficiently.
Q: What if the weather is bad?
A: For the mini sessions on September 5 and 6, which are outdoors, I’ll watch the forecast and communicate a backup plan if needed (I’ll most likely give you the option of rescheduling or moving the session to my studio indoors). For the mini sessions, on September 12 and 13, weather won’t be an issue because those sessions will be held in my home studio.
Q: How will I receive my photos?
A: You’ll get a private online gallery within seven days to download and share your high-resolution images.
Q: What’s your cancellation/reschedule policy?
A: I totally understand that life happens! If you need to reschedule, let me know at least 48 hours in advance to adjust your time slot. Deposits may be forfeited for cancellations without rescheduling. If you have a circumstance that requires you to reschedule for a day outside of the mini session dates, your session may have limited props available, but we can still get some fun photos of your kiddo!
Q: Can I bring props or special items?
Of course! Your child is welcome to bring props like favorite books, athletic gear, or even a stuffed animal to personalize their photos. If you don’t want to bring extra props, don’t worry! I have a fun set up with lots of props to add a fun story to your session.
